I am finally getting my mobile setup ready for my UREM, which should be done next week.
I thought I'd share a little about alternative fasteners I've played around with to those ALO rubber band things.

I've tried small 6" monoprice velcro cable ties. Using just 1 is too short and not enough to wrap around an iphone 5s + leckerton uha 6s mk2. You need to string a couple together to get it to work. It doesn't look very good overall. Holds good.

Tried a 13" Velcro Fastener Cable Tie Down. The buckle is unsightly and could scratch against your equipment. Holds ok

Best result was with 3 sets of sticky back velcro. Used the soft furry side on the iphone 5s hard case backside, so when I just need the iphone it feels fine. The prickly hook side of the velcro is on the amp. This is the most out of the way solution, but you'll have velcro permanently stuck to your transport, case, DAC, AMP, etc. Well, you could clean it off, but I'd imagine it would take some effort. Holds very well.

Good thing everything is black so it all blends in well.

I just want to ask pirates what other fasteners have you tried on your mobile stacks? which ones worked the best?

Try to find that 3m plastic knobbly velcro. I use silicone bands but I know people who use the 3m stuff that like it a lot. You may even be able to find it with the quick remove tabs.

+1. This. I use 3M Dual Lock (both regular and low profile) and it sticks my UHA-6S MKII right to the back of my note's case. I also stick it to my ODAC in the same way to make a really clean, tight stack.

what i did was found a laser cutting professional to make cut outs in my Belkin Remix Metal cases (bought as a great by the lot deal on flea bay), applied the Dual Lock to the back of my iPod Classics though the cut out , then placed another piece of Dual Lock onto the existing strip with the cover for the adhesive still on, pealed the adhesive off, stuck my JDS Labs C5 onto the result, put some hair bands around the lot for 48 hours. when all set up there is a bit of a gap (haven't tried the low profile) but the stack STAYS together, with a very satisfying click when you mate them. this stuff works.

i highly recommend Tyll's video and article to get a feel for what this can do.

Cost me about $1.50, and better for my Pico because I don't want to ruin the leather case of the amp.

The dual lock looks pretty cool. I will try it next time I add a Dac
