Sony MiniDisc Recorder/Player.  I can't remember when I last used it.  I should try to find my Sony portable minidisc player for kicks and giggles.  Actually, since (I think) I'm waiting for the Calyx M to be released, maybe I'll temporarily use the portable MD player with my UERM (coming next week!)

Minidisc and later iPods are totally what got me started in this hobby.   :)p13  I think I had an Aiwa somethingrather silver portable.  Sounded great!

I only ever had the portable MiniDisc player/recorder. I loved it. My friends were friggin' blown away at how cool it was. We would hook up a microphone to its mic input port and record ourselves being stupid/funny while driving around. I transferred lots of music over a fiber optic cable from my CD player, which was cool because it would set track markers automatically. Mine was the MZ-R3. Below is a pic of a japanese model. I got mine in early '97 from J&R.

I always wanted one of these, but I could never quite justify a reason to get one. Pretty cool find.
