It requires a computer I think, but there is also Darin Fong Audio "Out Of Your Head" product which seems to be about $130 ($99 if discounted) which I though was very good.
tested the darin fong software but it's not available (yet) for the apple eco(n)system. seemed fiddly, and I'm not sure how many custom systems it will accommodate.

Although both my software, Out Of Your Head, and the Reveel do process the sound to yield more imaging, I think they are still very different products.

I have never heard the Reveel, so I can't comment on how it sounds or ultimately whether it works or not, but it seems their intent is very different than mine.

For Out Of Your Head, the intent is to process the sound so that you hear the audio as if you were listening to speakers in a room. I am not trying to enhance the audio, or recover missing information, or even create enhanced imaging. I am just trying to make it sound like it would if you were listening to speakers, good or bad, etc. Sure the net result is that there is more imaging since the sound you hear is coming from "speakers" that are several feet in front of your and several feet to the left and right (and behind you, etc.) So if the speakers I measure image well, then you will hear the imaging present in the recording that you would hear from speakers.

That's the other difference is that I am trying to duplicate the sound of specific speakers and rooms based on actual measurements rather than applying some overall algorithm and tweaking parameters. It seems the Reveel has one setting for all content.

Another difference is that Out Of Your Head supports 7.1 channels of audio. I think the Reveel is strictly 2 channel.

I currently have 22 different speakers and rooms that I have measured that are available in the Out Of Your Head software.

Anyway, to me, Out Of Your Head is very different from Reveel, but you can be the judge.

The Mac version was supposed to be done a while ago. I am hoping to have a beta version ready any day.

In the meantime if you want to hear some recordings of the output from Out Of Your Head, you can listen to some pre-rendered files on my website. These demos do not require any software installation and can be played back on any device and any headphones, etc.

We can start a different thread if anyone wants to discuss Out Of Your Head any further. There's also a thread on Head-Fi, of course:

But I would rather discuss it here since I can say more here.

There's also a few impressions from the SoCal HF meet thread:

OK, sorry about the shameless promotion, but I just thought I'd clear things up since Out Of Your Head was mentioned.
