A demo of one of my original songs
« on: January 24, 2014, 11:08:30 PM »

I am not sure if this is the correct board to post this, if not admin please feel free to move it to the appropriate thread/board.

I posted a You Tube video of one of my original songs that I entered for a contest (they say they listen to every song submitted and most get at least one radio airplay, but that is what they claim)

The song is called Equivalency and it is one of my songs off of my current album "Alchemy". The album is not finished yet, but here is a demo of one of my songs if anyone would care to listen. The song is written, arranged, performed, mixed, and mastered by me. I hope you give it a listen and I hope you enjoy it!

Thank you so much!! It really means a lot!! As far as the drums go, no I did not do the drums, they are from a program called SessionDrummer64. I did have to program them though for the song. I don't have enough mics, and a sound shield to properly record real drums, unless I went to a studio but that gets expensive.

Everything else is live instruments except for the synth sounds. The guitars and bass are live instruments and all performed by me (including the synths and keys)

Thank you again for your kind comments, it means a whole lot to me. The whole point of my album is just to make music that maybe people will enjoy, I am not looking to sell or make any profit from my album, just something that I would like to share with people and hope they can get some enjoyment out of it. Once the whole album is completed and I get professional CD copies made, I will send them out to those who would like a copy free of charge. The only thing I would ask for is shipping (say I made a 100 copies, if I paid for shipping to everyone that would get very expensive). But those who do want a copy can get it free when it is completed if they just pay shipping, and the shipping on something as small and light as a CD should be pretty cheap.

Very cool! I really like it a whole lot too!

If you need help mastering or recording, I'd be happy to help. Since you're not charging for your music, I wouldn't charge you for any work either.

Can't wait to hear the full thing in high quality.

Thanks you! That means a lot, and I appreciate you offering to help with mastering. Currently I am using iZotope Ozone 5 to master, but I still have a lot to learn. I have only been to a few mixing/mastering clinics and have only been doing this for a couple of years, so any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you so much for offering your help!!

Sure thing no problem! I really appreciate you wanting a copy!! It'll probably be awhile as I have more songs to complete before the album is finished, I would like to have at least 8 tracks. But at least the turn around for making professional copies of CD's is short. Currently, I have been looking at the company Discmakers to make the copies and booklets, cases etc. Their prices seem reasonable and you don't have to buy a minimum quantity.

Cool! I've been doing it since December 1999. Quite a while...

iZotope Ozone 5 is a neat little program. Very versatile but I rarely use it. The best thing about Ozone is the intelligent II limiter/compressor. It's probably the most transparent one out there.

Very nice! I hope you get some radio play from the contest.

Count me in for a copy when it's done!
