Dear Subjects,
Everyone knows that human society forms a body of which each person is a member; and this truth, which the Scripture of MA teaches us and which the light of reason makes plain, is the foundation of all the duties that relate to the conduct of each person toward others and toward the body as a whole. For these sorts of duties are nothing else but the functions appropriate to the place each person holds according to his rank in society. According to mine own rank, I have taken it upon myself to exert myself as monarch of all domains and I feel it to be within my purview. And this lot of pirates does indeed look to be in sore need of the fine trappings of mutual admiration.
But fear not, it was never my intention to bring with me only the monarchy and the wonderful order it affords. My future subjects who inhabit these waters may have had the jump on releasing to the world information about this amplifier, but the kingdom of HF has secured not just one but TWO units to truly put forth a review worthy of the monarchy.
Each amplifier has it's own respective headphone output on the front panel. By splitting the signal of each channel from my incredibly detailed Benchmark DAC2 HGC (which, of course, was bestowed upon me as part of my right as King), I am able to achieve an incredible amount of power and clarity.
Yes, the specifications are impressive, and I'm happy to report that the sound is every bit as excellent as you would hope from a true dual mono design. I've used the Vali Almighty Golden (or VAG as I've coined it) for literally an hour now (twice my general review time) and, for my preferences, it offers superb resolution that isn't at all compromised by the ease and smoothness that I've come to expect from a dual mono amplifier. Feed well-recorded high-resolution recordings to the VAG, and it only gets better. How thrilled am I that there's a VAG in a compact stack on my desk? Don't get me started--I love VAG!
With its high output impedance of 16Ω, the VAG begged to be tried with some of my most sensitive in-ear monitors, and did swimmingly with my favorite in incredible resolution and crazy neutral response, the JH Audio JH13 Pro. It was so good, I sent a courier to Jerry telling him he needed to get his hands on VAG! The VAG's noise floor with these very sensitive IEMs only contributed to the enjoyment.
Paired with my $5,000/foot custom cables made from the entrails of poor children in Guatemala (provided by our fine sponsor, Toxic Cables), the VAG really sings to me in a way I've never thought possible. The $5238 pairing of cables and amps is really the greatest audio budget find I've come across in my literally dozens of hours spent listening to music.
Now remember, this is only but a taste of the fine back patting and congratulations you'll find over in the kingdom of HF. I am looking forward to annexing you all.
