These pics make me wish I was living in USA or preferably Canada, or maybe somewhere else within car reach.  :)p18

I actually think Europe is closer to Shanghai than Canada/USA, but going there by car seems a bit like a stretch regardless... ;)

anyway, echoing the awesomeness of these pictures. so much cool gear I don't think I'll ever get to hear.
the HD800's are inspiring, I want to sharpie all my headphones now.

Getting a proper fit with the Qualia 010 is notoriously difficult, as even the small size headband seems to be designed for Billy Quizboy. Some folks took to adhering sponges to the headband using twist ties. Once you get that down and find an amp with good synergy, the Q010 does sound quite nice in my opinion. A very analytic sound with a ton of air and pin point imaging, really one of the best headphones in terms of spatial reproduction. Rather thin sounding, with edgy treble that results in rapid onset of fatigue.

It's sort of a super SA5000.

I just don't really agree that they're a cut above the HD800, at least not in most respects. I've owned them for about three years now, and I'm pretty familiar with how they scale. In terms of separation and imaging I would say they might actually have a leg up on the HD800. However the HD800 simply scales higher to my ears when it comes to micro detail retrieval and texture, especially toward the lower end of the sonic spectrum. The HD800 also has a more natural timbre (though both sound a little artificial to me --- the Q010 just all the more so). I really don't think many people have heard just what the HD800 can fully do. I don't think I've heard what the HD800 can fully do.

I mostly talk about music there. Weird.

Actually got my HD800 used from maxfazer, Tari.  He must not have liked them at all.  They were practically new and did not smell of smoke.

The Qualia's are harder cans to "get right" than the 800, but when done well they are a cut above.

I find that hard to believe, but I could see that depending on the level of 'stockness' of the 800 in question.  What amp were you guys using to get the Q10 and HD800 'right' respectively?

Romy, if you ever make it to a shipping center, I'd love to see what I could do w/ the Q10.  Plus my current S7 has driven everything well including the orthos, so I doubt the Q10 would be a problem.

BA w/ 300b's is the best I've heard the Qualia sound, it needs something to tame the treble along with a bit of bass bloom to give more meat to the bottom end. Definitely not a headphone without issues but I can see myself basing an entire system around the 010 to address those flaws.

If MF can't send you her 010, I'll send you mine when I get the time. To me the drivers have a lot more potential in terms of raw resolution than anything I've heard, even better than my stats.

@Tari updated the thread. The L3000s smelled like Euro Swag when I received them.

Thanks for sharing Mike  8)

Thanks for the thoughts on the 307A.    I remember the price that one was first selling for was ridiculous, but the 4 and change (?) that it ended up going for was a great price considering the performance you're talking about.  Even if the looks are... an acquired taste.
