I got to listen to my friend's set of slants and I liked them as well. Compared to my Mad Dogs, the bass impact was night and day; while the Mad Dogs had very little bass impact (and the Alpha Dogs had even less to my ears), the bass had a much more satisfying thump on the slants. I also noticed that the ~10k spike on the Mad Dogs seemed to be flattened out on the slants.

More bass impact than the MD? Lessened treble, or at least a lessened peak there? That sounds like something I might like. Oddly enough, the AD I demoed had more bass impact than my MD (put another way, the MD sounded warmer, but the AD was harder hitting and cleaner sounding down low). I have yet to find a T50RP that I don't want to EQ the treble down a bit on, but maybe the Slant would do it for me.

I'd love to hear more impressions for others or, better yet, get my hands on a pair...
Oh yes, the bass impact on the Slants was much better to my ears. If someone was really sensitive to bass impact, they would probably say it's too much. I loved it though. On my setup, the tour AD didn't have much impact, just sort of a weird low rumble. Though apparently the tour unit we got had a missing screw that was negatively affecting the sound quality. A revised one should be en route to miceblue, and I can give the fixed AD a listen and see how they sound.
I didn't listen to them for more than an hour or so, so I can't give you complete impressions, but by my guestimating I would say the 10k peak was flattened out a bit. I wouldn't say the other parts of the treble were necessarily very different from the MD. Again, I didn't spend a really really long time with them.

I don't mind extra bass or impact so much, as long as it's clean. I'd like to re-listen to the AD to confirm what I heard, but I don't buy that what I heard was due to the missing screw (I had a lengthy post typed up detailing my reasoning, but it was too off topic). I made sure to get a perfect fit and seal when testing, and I think measurements, including a new, but odd looking, CSD on these forums back me up. But, to clarify and to not upset a certain community, I made it clear that I thought the AD was more just not for me rather than being disappointing in and of itself.

The Slants might be the "fun" alternative that I was originally hoping the Mad Dog would be (didn't turn out that way, might have been my individual pairs). I'd just have to read more impressions and hopefully see some measurements before really considering a purchase.

I wouldn't say that there's a whole lot more impact on the Slants than the MD, but the difference is definitely there and it is noticeable. There is a decent boost down low, but it still sounds clean, if not a little cleaner than the MD 3.2. I also feel like the treble is a little bit smoother, but I am unsure whether that is a result of the tuning LFF has done or whether it's due to treble variations that have been observed with the T50RP. At any rate, it sounds fantastic. Still pretty close to neutral, but with some extra "oomph" down low, for those who want it.

I had an extended audition of the Slants before they had to be shipped back for the meet. Will be posting my thoughts, along with an interview I did with LFF via e-mail.

Still planning on posting that interview?

I finally got the Slants back home.  I ordered a very basic pair, but even on these the paint work is awesome.

These are now easily my choice for closed headphones.  Somehow LFF added a little color to the Paradox without fucking them up!   headbang

Seriously good headphones.
