So, we got a visit yesterday. F*****g assholes...

My fiancé called me up just when I got out from work yesterday evening (late). "Why have you opened all the doors and thrown everything on the floor".
 
Then she noticed the crow bar marks on the locked door and got scared.
 
So yeah... I lost two fine swiss watches, both our passports and my portable stack (Rx MkIIIB + CLAS + iPod Touch).
 
The ZDSE, laptops and all headphones survivied.
 
FUCKING ASSHOLES! I'm sooo goddamn pissed right now.
The police said that even new fresh security locks can be forced in about 30 secs.

The valuables were insured but only up to 7000USD. And the watches, well... Stupid me should have thought about that before getting the standard insurance roof. Only counted the furniture and some electronics. Didn't even think about the watches.

Who the hell takes audiophile equipment that can't be sold. Probably the iPod that got them interested. And the fact that the stack was small and easy to hide. Note to self. Get a safe. And a gun license.

Odd.  Typically laptops are an easy grab.  Anyway, glad to hear you and the fiance are OK, that's the most important thing.  Nothing much lower than a thief...  :boom:

Damn, sorry to hear that mate. If the watches are limited edition, may still be able to track somehow esp if you still have the certificates. Stolen passports kinda worrying though.

It really sucks to have your home violated by some shitbags. We had ours opened up twice before we installed an alarm and two fake security cameras. They didn't take anything too valuable- just cash from my dad's wallet and tried to steal one of the cars but couldn't get the gate open. Some security guys say that the best system is getting a dog. Ironically some people whom I know got fancy guard dogs and believe it or not- thiefs stole the dogs.

But really- be glad that everyone is safe. A friend of my fathers got both of his dogs poisoned and bedroom filled with anesthetic gas. The guy was more heavily built and got off okay, his wife took weeks to recover.

Western passports are valuable. Once professionally forged they are almost impossible to distinguish from real western passports. Even in the Netherlands, your passport is valuable...

Very sorry to hear about this VH, but good to hear you and your fiance are fine.

I would report the passport as stolen as soon as possible. If the guy gets caught using your passport, you may still get some grief down the road though... It happened to me.
