at the Denver meet, I did more talking than listening and that:
a) was ok, because I hadn't met anyone in person before
but
b) sucked because some cool rigs were present and worthy of sincere, dedicated sit down listens.
so my fast .02:
- wanted to sink into the Mister R DAC+Uber7 and HD800 for much longer than 5 minutes. High Priority for me next time.
if Mister R will never sell it, perhaps it should be flat out stolen out from underneath him at some point!

- missed listening to Hans' bringing modified Oppo headphones, so that's a next time for sure, as well as his boards + op-amp tweaks on hand.
bravo Mr Snowden!
- Effusion's tube collection was un frinkin real. that Elekit amp was screaming to be paired with HD800 I thought, seemed a bit dark with his HD-650s.
- someone (Dave?) had a cool little Japanese unit that was DAC/Amp w tubes/Phono-something all-in one.
hard to gauge it's functionality (alone) as it was wired to an external, home made DAC set up in a sweet wooden box.
- was glad not to have picked up the EL-8 as everything I'd read confirmed the pyrate findings here. it's dog

.
- only spent 3 minutes on some Shure 1540s (or whatever they were) and with zero detail, put them down gently. forevermore.
- didn't want to bring a Yggy without UPS, warm up time, etc. someone did, but can't recall what amp/headphones was paired with it.
- was bummed no HE-1000s or Ethers were present. could have borrowed HE-1000 (from a friend) had I known ahead of time.
- any value in encouraging pyrates to bring their CIEMs if more portable (low power, mobile) rigs were set up and available?
- Denver crew needs more un-released, clandestine gear wrapped under secret kevlar blankets if we ever hope to approach the SoCal insider-trading-secret-equipment meets in future!
