This thread is specifically for those who would be interested in commissioning Craig to build a Leviathan. Basically it comes down to buying the transformers ourselves and paying for the amp's construction. If you're interested, please post here. Also if you have ideas for where to buy the needed parts please post.
The clueless can read about it here: http://www.changstar.com/index.php/topic,693.0.html
Some news: Apparently Craig has a cheaper version of the Leviathan in the works called the 445. Any more details on this?
-
Interested.
-
I'm in, but with the Electra production in process what can we expect for build times?
-
In.
Craig said he was able to source the transformers I believe. I'll find out more about the 445 later, think Craig just finished up at NAMM.
Maybe you should post the ballpark price so people can make a realistic decision about such an amp. People tend to only read the most recent posts.

I've guessed your secret sir. Lead time on the first unit created was a long time, wouldn't be surprised if this ended up taking 6 months after the transformers have come in, depending on if he has the metal. For someone looking at moving soon, I'm not sure a hard and fast lead time could be ascertained.
Should have known it was you from your intro post.
For numbers to be clear, we're looking at 7-8K with the transformers. Good 2A3's (NOS RCA's) are available for $150-200 a pair unless you want new production EML's or NOS single plate Cunninghams.

Sir, I haven't the slightest clue what you are talking about. Mayhaps you have me confused with another fine looking gentleman.
-
Ah, but how would you know I know you are fine looking unless you knew I knew who you were?
Anax, are you in for the Googleli version or the 445?
Ever since Craig came back from NAMM he hasn't been the same. He's been having flashbacks and took to drink.

How much is this?
-
Google v.
Cost is in reply #4
-
Interested!
I am assuming thats the approx cost for the 445, how bout the Leviathan?
-
No, the 445 is a one off proto built from scraps and would be half the cost if ever produced. Preproman apologizes for the mass confusion he created about the 445 by talking out his ass. I worked in government for 6 years so I feel qualified to apologize for him.

Ah, I see.
Thanks for the clarification
