Title: zerodeefex's JPS Labs Abyss
Post by: Bill-p on March 26, 2015, 05:06:00 PM
Supposedly modded by Marv. Very very very impressive. It also sounds like the best thing I've ever heard.

Wow!

What can I say? This is like... the most tonally correct headphone I have ever heard. Bass weirdness is due to poor fit on my coupler, but that's intentional, as I think the Abyss should be worn with poor fit. Bass impact, power, and speed is very impressive. This headphone sounds very very very speaker-like.

If I have any time later today (very unlikely), I may try to revise the coupler slightly to take a tight-fit measurement.

You can rotate the pads around to get varying seal. There's no proper way. I like to leave a small area around the nape of the neck open for a slight boost around 40Hz.

Thanks, Marv.

Will try that later today when I get back home. I honestly didn't think bass was lacking at all, despite the drop at extreme low frequencies. Abyss certainly doesn't sound like a bass-shy headphone.
