The 2013 albums that have leaked so far have been very good: Foxygen, Jim James, Beach Fossils, Yo La Tengo and the new Low is pretty decent (always takes me a while to warm up to their albums though).

I had a lot of hope for the Christopher Owens album, since i LOVE all three Girls releases, but it's pretty awful so far.

Anyway, looking forward to new Arcade Fire, Vampire Weekend (don't judge me), Phoenix, Tegan & Sara, Earl Sweatshirt, Atoms for Peace, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Local Natives, Kurt Vile and James Blake albums.

As most have mentioned already...

Tegan and Sara, Kurt Vile, Arcade Fire, Low, Beach Fossils, James Blake, etc.

Plus all the stuff I overlooked last year.

Anna Nalick's upcoming third (fourth?) album that will hopefully be released this year. Some of the expected tracks-

Lullaby Singer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-AnqMzLpbH4
Words: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-k7d4fdlhQ
All Fall Down (live): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYtrzQNGXBw

She's tragically underrated IMO.

The Miles Davis was definitely worth the wait, and not just as a piece of history (the band between In a Silent Way and Bitches' Brew).  That was a ferocious live ensemble.  Highly recommended.

Incredible purchase for me, too. Hearing Davis in this crazy transitionary period was stunning. I've always felt a huge gap in his recordings between the 60s and the early 70s and these recordings tie it all together.

And nobody better tell my girlfriend that Vampire Weekend is releasing a new album  p:/

I can't think of another Bach performer that I enjoy more than she.

Oh yeah, BTW, Happy 328th Johann!

'I remember when Lorraine sang through the opening recitative of Mein Herze schwimmt im Blut BWV 199 during the first rehearsal for the perfomance with Kahane and the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. The musicians sat in slience after the movement ended. At first, the musicians wiped tears from their eyes while some clapped timidly. Then followed uproarious applause from the orchestra and the few lucky guests. That first run-through was good enough for the final performance. Lorraine made it seem as if she were singing this music directly to you and to you alone.' - Attiyeh, producer

Awseome!!  I cant wait. One of my favorite bands.

So is midlake.  I know theyre working on something and claim theyre going to be faster this time but its taken them years in the past. Heres hoping for another "fleetwoody mac-y" sounding album ala van occupanther

New National album in May? Can't wait.

This year hasn't been the glut of awesome releases that 2012 was. Disappointed with Youth Lagoon's latest offering. Hopefully James Blake's upcoming will remedy that.

New Low album coming too!  YAYA.  What was so great about 2012?  New albums by The National and Low make 2013 pretty good already.  Though I do wish Low would develop the Great Destroyer direction more.

Man this Diane Young song has been stuck in my head for like two weeks straight. I'll put this record on and have solo dance parties in my living room singing BABY BABY BABY BABY RIGHT ON TIME. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mX46e4GtlXM

The A-side ("Step") is fantastic too. Cannot wait for the new Vampire Weekend record. They played two other new songs when I saw them last weekend (Unbelievers and Yeah Hey) which were okay too.

And the new Daft Punk single is taking over the world it seems. It is damny catchy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NV6Rdv1a3I

What an exciting May with new albums coming out from Vampire Weekend, The National, Daft Punk, Savages, and Still Corners.

If this live-in-studio performance for WNYC is any indication, Aoife O'Donovan's debut solo album is going to be really good.

Goldfrapp's Tales of Us is coming in September. Judging from the trailer it will have a Seventh Tree type of sound rather than the glitzy electropop of her last one. I prefer the chilled acoustic Goldfrapp, so this is great news.

I listened to the new Bill Frisell album, Big Sur (due out in the US next Tuesday) via the New York Times' new preview service, PressPlay. Frisell fans will want to jump on this. Beautiful melodies, beautifully accompanied by the Unofficial Bill Frisell String Trio (Jenny Scheinman, Eyvind Kang, and Hank Roberts).

Also, new Neko Case due out 9/3.
