Title: W3000ANV quick impressions
Post by: Marvey on November 30, 2011, 05:33:12 AM
Got the W3000ANV. It sounds almost exactly like this http://www.head-fi.org/t/575725/new-flagship-from-audio-technica-ath-w3000anv-50th-anniversary-headphones/240#post_7906917 (http://www.head-fi.org/t/575725/new-flagship-from-audio-technica-ath-w3000anv-50th-anniversary-headphones/240#post_7906917) but with slightly more bass.

Very charming non-linear weird sound. Has similarities with RS1, except a lot smoother in treble. They’ve got a little bit of that R10 thing going on. Easily better than W1000X which had slow slow decay and a little bit too much bass and upper-mids. Very detailed and fast.

In all honesty, I liked this headphone.

It definitely has some R10 mojo going for it. It's not something spectacular but it's got a special sound that's worth a listen. I'd keep this over an LCD-3.

I can only see the ATH-W3000ANV, not the ATH-W3000ANX

My mistake - ANV ANX XYZ - it's all the same to me.
