I have heard them recently -
Absolute crap sound; Sorry to say that!
Really for people who propose on Facebook.  poo poo
What a pile of poo

Ear piercing, horrendous, disgusting - stay away from it!!

Only useful as party-showpiece!
Looks like a motorbike engine - sounds like one too ...

I heard them briefly at a show.
Conditions weren't all that good.
But I came away impressed what this speaker was able to do in the bass area.
In terms of absolute sound quality I can't give a statement.

I interested in auditioning them as a proper stereo setup. Hope local dealers will stock them soon.

Yeah thats why I was wondering if anyone had heard it in person.  Living in Hawaii I don't get much options to hearing anything but through a video and video doesn't quite make it all that pleasing to hear.

I would at least wait six months and see if they've debugged their software by then.

My general impression is that the engineering behind it is quite solid, that the marketing department went totally overboard, and that we still have to wait for better reviews to have an idea of what they sound like.

Yeah, I'd like to hear some more reviews on it.  If I had the chance to listen to them myself than I could make a decision but I'm willing to wait for that.

I heard them at a show here in Seattle and, I agree, they were  poo.  Bose Lifestyle for the 1%.  Here's my comments about them on CA http://www.computeraudiophile.com/f3-article-comments/article-devialet-unleashes-phantom-22728/index4.html%23post407334

Never heard the phantom, but the D-Premier was seriously the worst purchase I ever made.  And the way joeexp describes the Phantom, the D-Premier made my existing speakers sound like that.  Just awful.

Ouch, sounds brutal.  I read somewhere on another forum that the bass is tight and goes low but the tweeter is screeching.  Some people are ok with it because they said it sounded better than their system which justified the price but others who had better sounding systems said they didn't like the uneven sound.

Just a hypothesis. Perhaps this is a case of a large R&D budget that should produce a superior product. Physics gives the designers the screw job but it still has to go to market. I am sure this hypothesis will be tested soon and often.

Yeah I agree.  I'm hoping for more reviews from others.  I think it looks cool and if it lives up to the hype I'm fine with getting one.

Heard these a couple of days ago... big disappointement... sound was crap... not even worth trying to describe.
The surprising thing was that. from a feature perspective, it didn't look like a finished product... the app to be used to control these was far from user friendly as well...

Stay away from this crap!

Thanks for the personal experience.  So far I've read in other forums the same reaction to these.

Heard them a week or so ago. Wasn't too incredibad. Sounded plasticky and the local hi-fi shop guys didn't like the Phantom due to the lack of cables that go with the speaker.

Yeah, its suppose to run off an app for wireless ease.  So far I haven't seen any positive reviews other than the bass was good haha.

I read somewhere they have a budget of around $25M allocated for marketing of the Phantom.

Not sure if it's due to the recording equipment, but it certainly sounds like  poo

An insult to Michael Jackson's music.

Even the soundblaster roar sounds better imho.

One of Devialet's main shareholder is LVMH.... since the entry of LVMH, I was told me that this has kind of changed the focus of Devialet. Now they need to make money immediately... even if it is by selling half-backed crappy products that can kill the enthusiasm of early followers... but the phantoms are being bought/sold, so not sure if it is yet a big commercial fiasco.

Hmm, I see.  I only heard of it through another person in our town praising the hell out of this product.  Thats when I went to look what all the hub bub was.  So far I haven't heard anything positive and if thats the case of the crappy products they did just that...lol
