BRING YOUR GEAR! It's always nice to hear what others have put together. Hobbyist tables are almost always better than vendor tables - more freedom to mix and match what works. I especially love the budget rigs that folks put together. A few vendors will be there (we do need their support), but this will be a meet more like the ones CEETEE, Ravi, and I put together in the recent years past.

FWIW, Changstar folks organized California meets from 2011 to beginning of 2014. We wanted to retire, but thought it would be nice to bring back more hobbyist oriented meets rather than tradeshows.

In. Will probably only bring portable gear, since I assume that anyone who is interested in the Hilo has had multiple chances to hear it in the past. Pono Player, iPad Air, Herus, Geek Stream if it arrives by then, Nano iCan. Might bring Kingston MobileLite so that people can stream their own music (on SD card or USB drive) to iPad.Will definitely bring Noble PR with both SE and balanced cables. Will bring Noble BTS if it arrives by then.

We love HF actually because that's where we met. I usually tell Jude how much I love the new Eddie Current stuff or Cavalli stuff or LH Stuff and honestly tell him how much the HD700 sucks and have asked him why Hugo makes such shitty sounding DACs. We don't know why there is this perceived view that we hate them. We don't.
Trust me, I'd love to post about how much I love certain stuff - especially well mastered music - and about how some stuff sounds like utter shit - like the Hugo tt - but being a MOTT effectively gags me from being honest.

I can bring a laptop with my Out Of Your Head software with a Geek Out and some basic headphones.
If anyone wants me to bring any of my gear, I'd be happy to. I think most of you know what I have since I have the same gear at all the meets and trade shows. My Rag and Stax 009's are my most high end gear. I have LFF headphones, but I assume Luis will bring his.

I'd be interested in coming by if you'll have a complete stranger (and especially if UE will be there with the digital scanner as I'd intended to grab some UERM's next time a discount popped up). My gear to offer is decidedly mid-fi and redundant (hd650's etc) so not much to offer other than my company and interest.

That sounds fun. Should be able to work that out.
If people brought speakers, I could even measure those so you could have a "virtual" copy of their speakers for listening to on headphones. It's cool to be able to compare multiple speakers just by clicking the mouse. I can also create a 5.1 or 7.1 measurement from two speakers. Then you can hear what your speakers would sound like if you had 8 of them in a 7.1 configuration.
The measurement process is a little time consuming. Not sure how many people would want to do measurements, but we may not be able to get to everyone depending on how many people want to do it.
Or it may be more fun to measure some of those uber speakers they have in their listening rooms.

I'm not sure how many more shows he's going to as I think he's slowly getting out of the hobby, but it's probably closer than most meets for him. blubliss and eggil aren't too far from the meet either, but I know there's limited space so just throwing out names in case people drop out.

Yes, that's cool. I originally thought there weren't going to be any vendors to keep it a meet rather than a trade show, but I think it's OK if vendors have things we all want to hear, then that's good.
I will have a setup running my software, but I know most of you have heard it many times. So it will be there if anyone wants to check it out. I think most of my time will be spent measuring speakers, hopefully. I think that will be interesting for some of you who are into speakers.
When I get bought by Apple for $3 billion, then I will definitely give you $10,000 Marv. :)p1

Darin, never heard your stuff, but very interested. I'm into speakers. They aren't always into me. Quad 2805's something fried in the circuit boards when wife and niece tried to move them without me there. Infinity Prelude MTS surround sound system. Defective mid-range driver. Every single one. Hartman USA, "we haven't heard of a problem" Harman UK, send them in for a free fix. Currently using Dunlavy IVa's. Sound is great. Bass in my room is a little light. Hope to have a chat with you.

Spent the past weekend at THE Show Newport and spent a lot of time with the folks from Brooks Berdan. They are so freakin' stoked to be doing this event with all of you guys. The owner, Sheila, and the manager, Rick, are really looking to get input on what it is the Chang community is most interested in and how they can best cater to the event to make it that much more pleasant.
Shoot me some ideas and lets see what we can get moving on.

Ken here with ALO audio & Campfire Audio. Caleb (VP) will be coming to the meet in my stead. The 27th is my wifes B day so I cant make it but Caleb is excite to come and bring goodies and meet everyone. Thanks Mike for giving us the heads up on the CHANGfest!
bringing Continental Dual Mono, Rx amp, all the Campfire IEMs and a assortment of cables and stuff for anyone to demo.

FYI, I should have new version 2 of the Vostok ES-31 electrostatic amp/dynamic headphone amp/DAC combo to demo.
I know a lot of you have heard this product a long while back, but the designer has assured me that it's much improved over previous iterations. We'll see. I haven't heard it yet.
I'll bring my SR-009s to use with it. The DAC has analog outputs that bypass the amp, so we can compare the DAC performance if you want.
If you have time, I'd be interested to see what people think.

I know the owner / chef (Nick) very well. I had them cater at my daughters 2nd birthday... Mike, if you talk to him again, let me know you guys are Gaurav's friends and to make the Butter Chicken very indian style. Not the americanized stuff... it will be properly done then. I haven't seen him forever, so it will be pretty good.
PS:- Just FYI, this is not a very cheap restaurant to dine at....it usually (MOSTLY) gets pretty expensive!

His truly good stuff is made with lots of patience and in less quantity usually. Dishes come out family style and everyone just shares. The Butter Chicken will be the main thing, so just give him a headcount and he can make it accordingly.
I was really hoping to see Donald and possibly borrow his phono for an evaluation. I have two new turntables incoming...one for sure, the other is in negotiation. So would like to play with more phono sections if possible. I'll borrow them another time...he must be going on some RIVA business I am guessing :)

Is there anywhere I can read about it or learn more? How many inputs? Step up ratios for the MC? Whose Step Up trannies will you use? Balanced outputs for longer cable runs?
