that's right! what's dinner like without rice. can't go one day without having rice for breakfast, launch and dinner, and even as a midnight snack. i love sticky jasmine rice a lot. not really a fan of brown rice but i'll eat it anyways since it's food. also love broccoli.

Looks juicy!

@Rex -- I always thought rice at breakfast was weird until I went to the Philippines and everyone ate garlic rice with eggs and meat. Turns out it's not too shabby.

i'm use to it since all my aunts and uncles are from the Philippines and grew up there most of their life in Manila around the Clark Airforce base i believe it was called. i was born here of course but i still got the opportunity to enjoy some good food and rice just like rest of my family just became a habit. i love it with eggs, veggies and meat as well a lot. i still love it though plain and have no problem eating plain rice a lot.

I'm on a strict cave man diet right now.  No grains of any kind.  So just meat, tons of veggies and fruit, yogurt, chocolate and ice cream.  Chocolate is a vegetable!

Brown rice is actually one of the best diet foods out there. Better than fruits and yogurt by a mile, and especially chocolate and ice cream. ;)

Chocolate is a vegetable!
So is Beef!  I like my Beef with a side of Beef.  Finish with Beef for dessert.  If you have a juicer, try it with Beef!

Yeah beef is good.  I have buffalo stew almost every day for lunch.

But Maxvla, you don't know why I'm on the diet.

I assume you mean a weight loss diet, why do you think brown rice is a good weight loss food?  It isn't that bad, but it's not that great either.  Lots of empty calories.  Which is fine if you're healthy and strong like bull.

I'm on a diet to maximize nutrient intake, so I'm eating the most nutrient dense foods possible.  I need more fat and ice cream and chocolate are tolerated the best.  I just had half a container of Strauss mint chip.  :-)

Actually technically I think chocolate is a fruit.

Speaking of ice cream -- I recently got an ice cream maker, which may simultaneously be the best thing and worst thing to happen to me. Worst because there is no way I can exercise enough to keep up with this heightened caloric intake, and best because my quality of life has gone way up!

Remind me to make you some when I swing by. What's your favorite flavor, RD?

Oh geezus, if you were a girl I'd marry you right now.  You can have all my headphones, just make me homemade ice cream!   :P   I think mint chip is my favorite, but with homemade I think vanilla is probably the way to go.  Nice and simple.

I'm pretty sure cave men ate ice cream.   :-*   I'm not going to drink lard, so I have to make an exception.

Chocolate is simply the best thing ever.

Yeah!  I spent a summer living in the rain forest in Ecuador and I made chocolate from scratch one day.  Picked the cacao from a wild tree, sucked on the seeds (they have a gooey guava-tasting coating, which is actually all the locals eat of the cacao, they don't make chocolate), dried them, toasted them, ground them, cooked them with sugar.  Man, that stuff was nothing like what you can buy here in the store.  It was super fruity and the slight buzz you get from chocolate was a full on stoney high.  I could only eat a couple spoonfuls because I got light headed.

Meh, Ice Cream is alright.  Gelato and Frozen Custard is where it's at.

@RD - You sure you don't have a tape worm snooping in on your listening sessions?

Red meat is actually one of the most nutrient dense foods in the world.  Have you noticed a difference in energy after eating rare versus well done beef?  You could try Wagyu cooked over a bowl of fresh, hot steamed rice too.  Healthier fats than normal cow.  I was a Vegan for 8 months long ago and I had the worst energy levels ever then.  My body is just too used to blood and flesh.  Soy protein doesn't cut the mustard for me.

That sounds awesome! My friends all laugh at the fact that I actually enjoy baker's chocolate. Less sugar and milk, more cocoa please!

I actually tried munching on Cacao leaves when I was in Peru and treked up to Machu Pichu.  Not sure how much it helped but I don't think I could have carried a massive stone block on my back along the way.

too much soy is actually not good for you if your a male. it has something that increase estrogen receptors somehow from what i read and will actually lower t-levels if you take too much. beef has zinc, creatine, good fats and amino acids that the body needs, veggies have vitamins that we need and certain greens like broccoli and spinish is showed to increase t-levels in time due to some special vitamin that prevents testosterone being converted to estrogen.

eggs are good for you as well believe it or not and the cholesterol as well too. the cholesterol in eggs is known to be converted into a chemical(i forgot the name) that then gets converted into testosterone through you liver, but of course if you have any common sense and eat a reasonable amount like once or even twice a week and not scarf them down thinking more equal better lol. too much of anything is obviously bad. real ice cream is not bad for you either if it uses real sugars and real milk and naturally made with little to none artificial sweeteners.

people don't know but 75% of those nutrients we take in gets absorb by our brain, heart and organs mostly, while the rest is either used up or stored away for later usages when the body needs it. staying hydrated is very important as well cause have you ever looked at an MRI of a dehydrated brain? it doesn't look pretty. staying hydrated can actually help with your mood and thinking process as well. sleep is very important as well too which is basically common sense.

My tape worm wants bass!!!!  I eat and listen the way Kumar wants me to.  (I named my hypothetical parasite Kumar, I'm not sure why)

Yeah eating red meat is good for me.  Hard for my tummy to break it down though, so I do stews cooked for 12 hours in a slow cooker on low heat with tomato sauce and kale and brocoli and chard, turnips, etc.  Grass fed beef is actually healthier, has a better fat profile with healthy omegas.  I don't think grass fed red meat is unhealthy.  God made cows!   ;D

And yeah, soy is nasty IMO.  If you see pictures of what soy does to pig intestines you won't want to eat it!

get the chance to travel and explore. i would love to do that and learn tons of things in the process as well exploring new horizons. it requires so much time and money though which i don't have neither so traveling is one thing i need to cut out on wanting to do. nj is ok. i live near philly in the burlington county so i'm surrounded by weird or so i say unusual people. town i live in is nothing but Brazilians and Portuguese that speak little to no english but are pretty nice people but they seem to not like talking to anyone that's american and obviously don't want to learn english(some, not all). town i live in is basically a safe haven for immigrates lol. can't complain though cause one good thing they brought the women here too awww yea.

How old are you Rex?  You can always travel.  It might mean you have to make it a bigger priority, but it's always possible.  I don't know anything about your personal life, but usually people get stuck in obligations they create themselves, like payments for expensive toys which force you into debt or at least force you to spend most of your time working, then there's owning things houses, nice apartments, cars etc. that keep you locked in.  But you can let it all go and get out there.  Of course there are exceptions and difficult situations and sometimes you can't, but often times you can.

I want to eat horse. I heard it tastes really yummy. And the meat from the older horses is more tender.

But the stupid PETA people decided to help outlaw horse slaughterhouses in the USA, so that little pony that dad gave to his daughter (that they can no longer afford), must suffer a painful 36 hour trip tightly packed with other horses into a train car from Montana, USA to Montreal, Canada to be slaughtered. By the time people open the doors, most of the horses are half dead:

GJ PETA! You've just increased the suffering of horses by 400%!

that looks like some good ice cream there. i mean look at the texture and detail. amazing.

on the other hand earlier i was so hungry for some reason i decided to make one of the most awesome( and fattening) burgers ever. it was toasted wheat bagel soaked in butter, some cream cheese on it as well, two 1/4'' patties cooked in garlic, egg over-easy(mmmm yoke),american cheese,lettuce,ketch-up, and mustard as one sandwich. it was awesome. it's so gonna be poop the next day.

Mushroom Agnolotti:

Separated some small brown eggs yolks and whites.  Used the whites to thicken the Basil Pesto and smooth out the basil herbiness.  Drizzled just the right amount of avocado and garlic oil over the Agnolotti and topped with two perfect yolk globes and some parsley.  Cracked the yolks at the table and tossed the pasta to distribute the rich, unctuous gooeyness.  Worked out really well, the pesto was unnecessary so I kept it off to the side.

I like fresh Avocados blended with a little milk. I'm not sure if they used a little condensed milk too but whatever it is, it's great.
