This is a HD25 clone in more than just its appearance.
It also seems a clone (at first glance) in measurements but in sound quality it's not performing as good.
I would have hoped it had typical 'Superlux' qualities and would sound 'open' with a HD25 type of bass.
That isn't the case though. :-[
It does measure a bit 'better' than the HD25 though, more linear but otherwise very similar.

For it's intended purpose (a good isolating monitoring headphone) it is decent enough considering the price :).
Whether it is just as rugged ? ::)

I had better expectations for it, but for the price...
BTW, they have new models, wonder if they tweaked the drivers or just the earcups design. And there's also a bluetooth version, hope they send it to you :)p6

The value-for-money products Superlux outputs are amazing.
A HD661 in a more comfortable form with a smoother midrange for less or equal to 100 Dollars/Euros would be a killer deal. Technology has come a long way. I can live with the plastic. Comfort and durability matter more for the quality feel.

How good does it sound? I found that some dudes on Head-Fi liked it more than the SRH440 that costs the double.
I was looking to buy one for my GF in a while but never decided if I should do it or not...she saw a pic of it someday and said that the pink one looks nice, LOL!.

The HD661 is quite good. Not the most comfortable though.
If your girlfriend is not too picky, get the Panasonic RP-HTX7, dampen it and you are done. Those headphones can be found for very little money.
Edit: the HD661 is a like a monitor headphone, without the aggressive Sony spikes and at lower volumes good enough for casual listening. Sub bass is a bit subtle, the rest sounds quite even. Ask Solderdude.
