TBH, I'm "meet"ed out and would rather organize a smaller meet / X-HF party with close friends, pyrates, whiskies, and perhaps, if the Norse gods are willing, a special DAC with a fancy divide by zero algorithm with a DSP digital filter.

Oooh! I would be down for that too. A nice contrast from the crazy Head-Fi "trade-show". (I'll be there as a vendor also.)
But if you invite me to your meet, Marv, I can try to bring a Berkeley Alpha Reference DAC for the ultimate DAC-off!

I'll probably go, but with properly managed expectations. This isn't a meet. It's a trade show. I'll go to scope out new gear, but all I'm bringing is phones and a USB drive with my evaluation tracks on it.

CJ really should be a tradeshow...it just got old having the local meets turn into them. Hopefully lots of member rigs are still present and well attended for this one. Last meet our room was a ghost town.

Yeah, this is a full fledged trade show to be sure. CJ @RMAF had over 40 exhibitors and we expect this event to top that. With that said, we're looking at ideas of a Member Showcase type room where notable rigs could be featured and promoted within the show.

I agree with this. The SoCal meets 4 or 5 years ago were almost totally members gear and kits which had a lot of variety. Seems to progressed to what currently is more like a money making "vendor show" and less like a "everyone meet up and listen to gear you haven't heard.

I'm planning on flying out just to expand my horizons a bit and to get some ear time with gear that I can't hear locally. Your headphones are (were?) high on the list, so I really hope you can make it in some fashion. If not, life will move on. Screw it if they're gouging you with fees.

Come visit the mini chang meet in SF Bay area this coming weekend at my house. I have Paradox Slants, Enigmas, Code-X as well as some rare flagships like the Abyss and special sauce modded HP1000s.

Glad to see more community meets are taking place. There is a place for these trade shows, I like to attend occasionally, but for some of us this hobby is built around meeting with friends.
LFF, now that you're as big as Sennheiser you need to spend some of those corporate profits keeping these "meet" organizers fed!

Thanks Zero, if I didn't live in Minnesota I'd certainly take you up on the offer! However, as much as I'd love to get out to the west coast, I won't be able to pull it off. It's my own fault for living here!

I'll be there making my swabbie rounds...first exposure to a lot of gear that you guys talk about regularly . Should be fun getting up to speed a bit.
I'm far more interested in the member showcase stuff than the vendor booths, so I'm sure I'll run in to a few of you.

I paid for a table, so I will be pimping my wares there. Although I might end up having to work on another gig, so I may have to have other people man my booth.
Regardless, I will have the usual gear there for demo. Stax, Enigma, Paradox Slants, LCD-3F, Rag, etc.

Welcome of course! BTW Marv, last time I checked, both the nearby Wyndham and the nearest Marriott (though not the Courtyard) are booked solid. To my knowledge, the only hotel within walking distance that has a vacancy is the Hilton Costa Mesa (not to be confused with the Hilton John Wayne SNA).

It seems I will be able to attend SoCal this time. Will be able to stay for just one day (Saturday)
I am looking forward more-refined HE1000 and Nighthawk. Hopefully they did not crank up treble as 'improvement' which is my biggest fear.
