Hipsters are the people in the know of popular culture, especially music and fashion with a penchant for everything Indie. It is generally assumed hipsters have the concentration of fruit fly and just follow every trend because, well a trend.
Hipster is a bit of a strange word as it seems to refer to women only.

Seriously though, "Stopped liking an artist because you’re embarrassed to be associated with their fans?" ?
I feel like that's the opposite of a music nerd, unless you're going to their live shows on a regular basis and you hate the crowd. Actually no, that's still a stupid reason to stop liking an artist.

I actually have several playlists sorted by BPM. You know it's bad when you have an entire playlist for 100bpm and another for 110bpm...

I make a list of my favorite pianists in order every year or so. It's useful for revealing slight changes in my listening.

My past relationships haven't been particularly long/meaningful, so there really isn't anything keeping me from whatever I was listening to at the time. Music enjoyment is a pretty personal thing.

After splitting from my ex, I am now naming that period Two Years A Slave, I erased over 100 Nicki Minaj 'songs' I had downloaded for her. I call that a win win.
