I guess is not OK to disagree or offer different points of view but calling names is fine?
You'd do a  better service by offering a counter argument.

The post you're quoting has a counter-argument: "the tests were done to Stax's current standards; Alex isn't a novice and it's reasonable to assume he knows what he's doing."

A lot of what's going on in this thread is an extension of drama that has been in the works for a while now. You want name calling? Visit the thread on a certain other forum where everyone decides to drag Alex's name through the mud. I guarantee you if I posted my "alternate point of view" about the LL and Alex there I'd be hazed mercilessly.
Did not mean to derail this thread.
OK. I'll stay out of this one, but his comment is no different than the ones you mentioned.

One would think that a person with your level of education would be capable of a solid alternate point of view.
And be confident enough to stand behind it. Regardless of where you post it.

I think that the new LL2 is a much better amp than the LL for a number of reasons. Given that there are no other
fully solid state commercial electrostatic amps out there than the srm323s and srm727s2 it is likely that the LL2 will own the
market for a significant amount of time.

As to how Justin measured his amp, I know it was at higher voltages, and he used a 100x Tektronix probe (10M input impedance) and
a laptop with rmaa. And the numbers were still lower than the numbers he guarantees. A lot of the problems
with rmaa are misuse due to incorrectly matched levels and soundcards with low and inaccurate resolution.
This is why the Audio Precision, the Dscope, and the things Schiit use can be so much better. But you can still
generate bogus data by incorrectly using these devices. And with an a appropriately high end sound card you
can still generate more than acceptable data with rmaa.

My personal BHSE(original version) and the T2 both measure about the same at .02% THD+Noise at 400 volts
peak to peak (x2 for balanced) into a 30+ year old sound technology 100a. (that is well maintained)

As far as I know for boutique headphone amplifier companies, the only one that owns high end test equipment is Schiit.
And they definitely know how to use the stuff.

One would think a person with your level knowledge and expertise would be wise enough not to stick his nose into everyone else's business. Seriously, whatever suspicions or concerns you have about Alex's, Ray's, or Craig's stats amps blowing up and exploding in flames a la Singlepower, sounding like shit, providing poor value because of shoddy parts, being designed in a non-ideal way, etc. just give it a rest. That's their problem, not yours.

We've been through this conversation before privately. Think about what you are doing and how this can negatively affect your diminishing reputation. This is just getting old.

New pictures on the site all look really nice.  I was worried when I saw some pictures from the Austin meet that looked ho hum, but this production unit looks much nicer.  Cavalli amps are like a goiter - they grow on you.

Yeah, the LL2 is definitely more attractive in person. The front panel is an improvement over the LG as well: it doesn't smudge like crazy and the engravings are much easier to see while still retaining the stealth look. Alex also mentioned the jacks would be slightly recessed versus the preproduction model (like the original LL), which will improve the look even more to my mind. Alex also took the added ventilation to heart, and now the amp is practically an open grate.

Though I still prefer the more playful look of the original LL. The new one is rather intimidating.  :)p12
