That mountain range is very beautiful.

The sound of these headphones... not so much.

I mostly talk about music there. Weird.

Guess that's why they call it the statement series and not the reference series.  poo

Reason?  and whats their reason for the reference series?  One of the least referencial headphones on the market?

Grado Reference Series RS-1: http://www.changstar.com/index.php/topic,44.msg194.html#msg194 At least the GS1000 have flat mids.

The RS-1 has changed over the years, becoming more and more unpleasant (same with the SR-325). The older models when John first took over weren't too bad. Still never held a candle to Joe's stuff, but not too bad (especially when he used Joe's drivers).

Kind of a shame Grado has basically turned into this parody of itself. The only "recent" Grados I've remotely liked are the PS series: PS500, PS1000, and PS-1. They're definitely flawed, but I didn't want to rip them off my head after a few minutes.

If you think about it, it really is a "Grado statement" series headphone.  It's a statement of the Grado house sound today.  Let's be honest here, did any of you actually expect something different?
