Channel Imbalance & L/R bias
« on: February 17, 2013, 09:18:36 AM »

I've read somewhere that the left ear better perceives tones and rhythms while the right ear has better speech cognition.

I wonder if this is why sometimes I perceive music slightly louder on my left ear than my right, almost as if there is a channel imbalance.

Or its probably just the stereo recording, and the artist not being centered.

Or my right ear is just slightly more fucked due to me answering phones all my life using my right...

I hear slightly better on the right and that's because I answer calls on my left...

i get more sound on the right channel/ear as well, i switch headphones and listen to the same song and i get different results although it is not as worse as before. its very possible that there is something wrong with my ear, but the audiometric/tone test says otherwise =(

I know what you mean, I did the tone test as well and my ears are balanced fine. LOL. But my left ear seems to pick up music tunes better.

my right is picking up more! and its worse when i had the problem. now it seems it settled down and im getting about correct hearing now. maybe its due to daily usage of iem with loud volumes, i didnt use iems for a long while and just settled with headphones with moderate volume and the problem went away

on some songs i tend to listen to the vocals and the bass beats. if the vocal is off-center while the bass beats is at the center, then it is the track. haha
