thanks a lot purrin for doing this for me! i greatly appreciate it very much. it was just getting to me for sometime and wanted to know how i actually done doing it by ear. i knew though when i used them there was something off around the sub-bass region on the right side. i thought was seal maybe so i wanted to know for sure. something sounded odd to me. glad someone with much more experience was able to give me a definite answer. i thought i was gonna do worst to be honest. how did you like listening to them?

thanks! didn't sound too bad to me. i knew they had brightness going on but didn't sound ear piercing like my sextetts lp so i was happy. thing too, they sounded like they had more air to them then what the graph shows. pretty weird.

i forgot to mention i didn't notice the midrange being that recessed to be honest when i used them before i sent them off. they sounded more distant compared to my say k601 but pretty clear/clean to me. guess too much dampening in front of the driver maybe? i noticed when i was playing around with the shure pads stuffing speaker cloth and even tried coffee filters, toliet paper and other stuff in combinations changed the sound a lot. lucky i didn't stick to the coffee filter,2 speaker cloths and 240 foam disc combo, cause it would of probably ended much more recessed then what it currently shows. right now in the shure pads there is only 2 speaker cloths i cut out and 240 foam disc in there. you can experiment as well if you want if you have any friendly suggestions/advice. i just kinda suggest don't open them unless you feel like man handling them putting them back together.

EDIT:

i forgot to ask and i don't mean to sound dumb but, is the waterfall graphs a good sign? i don't know how to read them very well still. sorry for asking and not understanding but i have rough idea on how to so far.

Waterfall plots are very good. The -40db floor is very low and shows a lot of stuff. In contrast, the Beyer T1's look horrible with the floor at -40db. The stock T50RP's have a bit of stored energy around 10kHz, and it looks like you've taken care of that spot.

I did like the way they sounded. No cup resonance typical of the stock. Laid back sound - as suggested by the wide dip centered at 3kHz. This dip could have been the result of the drivers being pushed back further from the ear because of your use of cotton balls to support the pads. In other words, the FR did not sound wierd. I've heard plenty of modded T50RP's that sounded worse than the original. This definitely was not one of them.

I did think the sub-bass could have been better (all my listening opinions are formed before the measurements are taken), but this looks to be an issue with one channel producing less bass than the other.

really? awesome! guess i didn't do too bad. i always knew the sub-bass was off on the right channel so i do agree with you there. i couldn't tell if it was seal or the driver. i think if i remove tad bit from it in the ear cup the sub-bass on the right side might even out. will try when i get them back. my mods are all removable so doing quick modification should be easy. that sub-bass is what always got to me when i had them. i mean with most music it's not very noticeable listening to it but, music with sub-bass you could tell. thank you again for measuring these. i'm really grateful for it. glad you liked listening to them as well.

thanks! yes it is. i never attempted or will not attempt to remove that cause to be be honest when i looked at it, i found nothing wrong with it at all. that's just me though. i left everything original. no messing up, doing permanent damage to the cups or driver. my stuff all reversible.
