Seems like my prediction came true: the new headphones from FAD will be called Pandora.

I mostly talk about music there. Weird.

Someone has been measuring the Muramasa VIII

That's a lot of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for a bumpy ride !  :-DD

Wow, Russian manikin. Looks like bad seal, but it's the only person who can wear this long enough to measure.  :)p3

The other measurements from the site look right. Bookmarked.

RE: Muramasa measurements

Very interesting.

The problem is, this is a headphone which isn't actually "on the market" and exists as a series of maybe 10 units, of which several are prototypes. AFAIK the only people to have one received it under rather difficult circumstances, so I'm curious as to how they obtained this particular set. Could be a pre-production unit. Really, there's no telling how much variation exists between one Muramasa to the next, and I suspect we'll never know. However now I really want to send mine to Purrin to quell my own curiosity, especially as I hear mine as being more linear than those measurements would suggest, though my set is very bass-light.

Another issue is the seal: these headphones are absolutely terrible with regard to fit (the cups actually jut *outward* in a little dome into your ear). Like I said, the most uncomfortable headphones I've ever worn by a very very big margin.

FAD seems to be getting their shit together again. The Pandora seems to be getting positive feedback from listeners, and is much more comfortable and only a fraction of the Muramasa's cost. I've also been listening to their Heaven VI earphones this morning, which they've pretty much nailed as far as I'm concerned.

Did you talk about them in more detail in any other threads?
