I am actually curious to head these apple gizmos. Not expecting much but Apple has the resource to make good sounding stuff... Then again there's only so much one can do under $30 budget, but at those volumes of sale, Apple is surely in a better position than anyone to design a cheap reasonable sounding earphone.

Actually, I noticed also some dual driver BA iems on their product page ($80 or so), is that new too?

They've been around 'forever' by the standards of today's IEM market.

|joker|'s review of them is dated Dec '09

Haha, yeah I've just seen the comments history on apples product page, it's indeed old news. :)

Am listening to the apple earpods out of the latest iphone and it doesn't sound unpleasant to be honest! Mid bass bloom amd midrange centric but nice soundstage depth and placement, it reminds me of a good single driver BA.

For 30 bucks, it doesnt sound half bad really! Or maybe my sony xba-3s are overpriced junk lol ;).

It's amazing how nice ultra-portable audio is evolving though and pleasing to see mastodontes like apple paying attention.

Ready for the flaming from the haters, although I expect better from fellow pirates :).
