NOS Original AKG K141.  It's like a supraaural Sextett, sounds remarkably similar, in fact better in some ways but smaller soundstage.  Very musical, warm, non fatuiging but lacks the refined treble of modern phones.  Of course, there's probably different versions so no guarantees...

These supposedly need new earpads.  K141 pads from the new models should fit if you use some double sided adhesive tape.

Okay, so not really a treasure, but...

"Best closed-back headphone EVER MADE surreal experience FAR above Denon D7000, Audio Technica A2000X, Ultrasone Edition 8 or anything like that."

LOL.

"Real leather pads, real leather headband (smells expensive) and more involving than the Tesla T1."

It smells more involving than the T1...?

M50 for 99: http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/77178/soundprofessionals-audio-technica-athm50-headphones-coiled-or-straight-cable-ath-m10-closedback-studio-earcup-binaural-headphones

Thought I'd post this since the price of these have been going up lately, and the M50 seems to be borderline are Pirate's Booty status around these parts.

Adding the M10 is only a filler to qualify for free shipping. Alternatively you can pay for shipping, or just add anything that's around $20.

Wow, that is a good deal, but it's highly overrated.

Yeah my ibuds have way more resonance and distortion so they are better and so the M50 is overrated.

Be careful about fakes.  Not sure if those are authorized.

I actually got that deal on the M50 about a month ago. For that price they're good, though I don't think they're worth $160. Interestingly it affirmed one of the reasons I started researching headphones; closed + shitty pleather is not comfortable for me at all.
