Very important for these speakers! Andhe speaker wire in the back needs to be angled toward the center between the speakers for a improved soundstage and dynamic (don't ask me how it works). And you can try to reverse the polarity of the power chord (here i found about it: http://www.head-fi.org/t/503389/audioengine-a2-eq-settings#post_6800326)

Wow!  I'm several years late to the party but this was a pretty entertaining thread!  I've mentioned before that I know next to nothing about audio - I just happen to like what I like.

One of the most memorable lines that I can remember is someone describing the sound of (I forgot which DAC/AMP/HP) and mentioned that it sounded like "tinkerbell masturbating."

TOTALLY made me wanna call Chris Hansen from Dateline  :gross:

I have a pair of Audio Technica W1000s, and I really hate them. I laughed out loud when I read this in a review on HF:

"Cons: A positively awful tonal balance, criminally bass shy and overemphasised mids make them sound like a megaphone"
http://www.head-fi.org/products/audio-technica-ath-w1000-headphones

So funny, and so true! I bought these after reading a glowing 6moons review of them. Never again.

Heh, this is courtesy of Griffon at a meet up in Canada a couple of months ago... He has a way with words.

"Let me just say this... there is shit... and then there is [insert name of terrible headphones here]"

There may also have been a comment about something with a very flat response involving Emma Watson...

This quote just came in from the shoutbox.

"takato14: Guys. Help. The HD700 sounds fantastic now."

He must have done some serious Victor Frankenstein shit to that headphone as if he was Mary Shelley.
