In debate and legal speak it's called 'spreading' which I find a more pleasing sound to the ear.  But let's not confuse it w/ random or incoherent musings in accordance w/ one's own beliefs.  It's actually a deliberate, well reasoned tactic used to overwhelm an adversary limited by time and/or financial constraints.

Sorry to break the mood, please continue.... ;D

Considering the nitpicking and rambling across multiple threads at once, especially when they're done by one person to four-five odd people at once, "spreading" may be just an issue of semantics.

U may have a point there.  I've definitely stopped following most of that forum for some of the reasons you mention.

I'm not sure there's such a thing as a proper context for this one..

"As far as I'm concerned FR / CSD is only the colour accuracy of a PC monitor / TV so a school of thought criticizing the latest Sony Bravia 1080P 600Hz w/e for having too high blue levels and saying some Panasonic from 2002 is better (in colour accuracy) doesn't seem like an accurate assessment.

I don't see any emblazoned reasons to turn the Tesla T70p into a reference STAX in CSD response if sacrifces have to me made in other departments of it's sound, so no.

You need to answer the question on an adjusted (eq + noise) Audeze LCD-3 versus Skullcandy Mix Master Mike if anyone is going to follow your school of thought."

You're still debating with kiteki? Half of his posts don't even make sense.

It's far less than half, but occasionally he says something coherent enough to respond to.  Besides, now it's just funny.

I found this gem because someone revived an old thread.  Emphasis added by me.

Quote (selected)
why would anyone want to do that to their expensive cans is beyond my comprehension. If Beyer felt it needed more damping on their flagship headphone they would have done it. To each his own but I would not mess with the T1 and I hear an extended treble with my tube gear. The reason I purchased the T1 was because I found it was one of the few headphones that did pretty much everything right. And to use a Tampon to boot.

The HF member who said it has been quoted on this very site before.  He goes on in the T1 mod thread to try to convince the T1 owners attempting the mod that the stock sound is fine and they shouldn't screw with it.  The mod in question was a teased cotton ball bundled into one side of the cup.  I was waiting for him to respond to me so I could go off on him for being not only unnecessarily argumentative but also dumbly blind to the qualified opinions of others.

Question: Should this topic be available to landlubbers?

Ha :P
You can sometimes be a bit wordy in your answers, but you get your point across, but half of the time, I don't even know the point kiketi is trying to convey, except amassing random bit of trivia that are peripherally linked to audio.  ::)

Unless I'm lucky enough to think of a pithy one-liner quickly my posts tend to balloon as I attempt to make sure everything is properly qualified and explained.

OTOH, when you see stuff like this and go from stunned disbelief to barley being able to contain your laughter it can be worth it...

"Oh look I just found the differences between AD797 and OPA627

Why is it not in the THD+N or FR oh noes my snow kingdom of science in the sky is melting help meeee

The reason Kiteki doesn't like measurements is because he can't hear worth a damn and [the good] measurements confront this.  He wants to be able to assert any random subjective impressions as fact.

I'm starting to think that people who lean too far in either the objectivist or subjectivist camps are in denial of their hearing problems or inabilities.  Of course, it depends on what measurements, and who's doing the hearing.

There are certain things I don't care about.  I'm happy with a well modded T50rp out of an ipod.  But you don't see me saying that good sources/amps do nothing, or that Marv/Anax are just imagining things when listening to the BA/super7.
