yes, Martin Logans are still boomy and badly integrated

- as are, IMHO, the crazy expensive large MBL Radialstrahler speakers; the smaller ones (expensive enough) do okay, but I've never been convinced by the large ones, they just sound like a multiplex movie theater to me. still, I delighted in telling neighbors when I came home that I heard speaker systems all day that cost, well, "how much?" ;-)

Reading about these high end speakers failing miserably with real world music just sounds so familiar and jives with my experience its actually funny how in the end, a magnepan mg1.6 can slaughter most of these when it comes to just plain old musicality.

Agreed. I heard the Maggies and they were good. Unfortunately, they wanted to push the center channel crap. Still sounded good though, but they put too much volume on the center channel.

Heard a recording engineer say that it improved spacialisation a lot... provided that your material was recorded with a center channel in mind and that your room wasn't an acoustic mess.  :P

A lot of vintage recordings are three track recordings. I personally prefer listening to the 3 channel Living Stereo SACDs on my home theater than the two channel mix on headphones or speakers.

But my HT is calibrated so no speaker stands out.

That is an amazing value, given that Selah's are already terrifically priced no-bullshit speakers. I recall drooling over a DEQXed line source on their site.
