The ski jump actually does sound that horrible. Ringing at 4-5kHz is a lot more benign than ringing at 7-8kHz.

This is a grown up RS-1. IMO, it could use more bass. It basically measures exactly like how it sounds.

Huh, sorry if this is considered gravedigging, but one of my friends let me borrow his AD1000PRM, which according to some people sounds exactly the same as the 2000, and to him it sounds "better". Either way, it has the same ski jump (if not even worse according to http://personalaudio.ru/raa/otchety/naushniki/). I find these to be quite an interesting and euphoric listen with approximately 10 songs in my library. Since the 4k peak seems to push female vocals forward, any song without any other noise in that region and only female vocals sounded pretty good to my ears!
Also, for some Japanese games that I play that mainly have girls talking/screaming at you, again these sound pretty damn awesome.
