Audio-GD C-2
« on: September 11, 2015, 10:47:19 PM »

Just got a C-2 Class A in (predecessor to the anniversary edition with less power and volume buttons instead of knob).

Right now I'm not doing it justice because it's being fed by a Dragonfly 1.2 until my DAC gets here next week.

In any case, it already sounds excellent. It's gigantic. I'm getting funny looks at work. They can deal with it.

I love that it has warmth settings and 10dB or 19dB gain via jumpers. It also has a balanced out in case you have headphones with that connector and don't want to convert it.

I'll try to do some measurements this weekend.

A-GD has always made bargain priced units, IMO. I've never understood why they didn't get more traction. I've always loved my audio-gd stuff. I was hoping to get a A-GD amp, but decided to hop on the Carbon preorder bandwagon.

I'm interested to see how you feel about this amp after you've got more time on it. Please continue to update here or on HF (saw you post there too  :P)

I had a c2c before, the highs were one dimensional and felt like there was a peak around 8 to 10khz and not much air above that. Bass was a little bloated as well. Sold it after a week of use.

I really dig the C-2 Class A.

There isn't a peak anywhere in the spectrum. I took measurements from my ZxR out because I didn't have the NOS-1704 yet.

Frequency response (from 40 Hz to 15 kHz), dB -0.11, -0.26 (Excellent)

I like it enough that I'm trying to sell it and the NOS-1704 for the Master 11 or NFB-1AMP (balanced version of the C-2) + DAC 19 or Reference 5.32 already.
