Full Spectrum Distortion Measurements for W3000, HP1000, and SR007
80Hz

[I used a different FFT size for the HP1000 measurement, so the spike will look more narrow on the HP1000 compared to the other headphones]

All tones are at 90db SPL - so disregard the graph markings - or calibrate accordingly.

4000Hz.

Whoa. The STAX hit a sore spot. The 007 has a minor resonance at 8kHz (2nd fundamental of 4kHz).

Interesting peak on the 007.  I guess it's good that it's so narrow so it doesn't get excited as much.

Looks like a sweep by the HP1000.

Except in the bass. The HP1000 has a good amount of 2nd order at 80Hz. I should take another at 150Hz.

I wonder how my HP2's will compare.  Maybe do a pre and post-mod measure.  Bring over the HD800 as well.

I'm pretty impressed by the Grados, even at 80hz. Highest harmonic is 40db down and the THD is dominated by the 2nd. Not bad at all.

Likewise, I expected the 007 to make a stronger showing. Guessing that the resonance responsible is an inescapable consequence of the large-diameter metal cups
