web developer

Question: do you prefer working in Javascript or PHP?

I have the opportunity to sort of find employment with an advertising agency that works on WordPress with PHP+SQL and I am going to cram the PHP basics to at least show my potential. I started with HTML+CSS and I blog on WordPress so I can give it a try.

There is long-term potential to grow with the company as an developer and/or designer.

As Harold would sort of put it:

"I'm a mediocre music lover and audiophile, somewhat less obsessed with video gear but still count it as a passion, and an electrical engineer by education (MSEE) and career. I have tested very few audio equipment with POS equipment over very few years and not designed one from scratch. I've designed and built custom home theaters (i.e. my living room and that of my dad and father-in-law all of which are sort of POSses), worked in some industries, and attended a few meets like T.H.E. Show, CanJam, etc. Some might think I don't take it all too seriously. They might be right."

I'm ocationally Mr. Mom as well.

Officially, I'm a software engineer, but I also do most of the ops work for my area. I'm in the online ad business.

Personally, I prefer writing PHP to JavaScript. I started out as a designer and transitioned into development. I know people that have done the opposite. Just keep learning as much as you can and you'll figure out what interests you.
