Arstechnica AudioQuest Ethernet Cable Article
« on: July 30, 2015, 10:49:16 PM »

http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2015/07/even-vegas-strangers-agree-340-audiophile-cables-make-no-difference/

Some things to note:
Not mention of DAC/AMP. Presume to be Onboard Dell/Apple soundcard (Realtek most likely)
Windows Media Player (Directsound) and/or (Itunes?)
Grado RS2e (yikes)

They are right. Audiophile Ethernet cables don't matter given the shit ass audio gear they used.

I fkn love people harping on about cables especially cables for digital signals....  :boom:

Don't forget to specify to your supply authority and home electrician what cables to install to your property and in your outlet wiring.

I reserve the right to let my ears say whats what.  I thought audio usb cables were pointless till I heard a good a/b with one of course that was in my early days, days of audeze love and hugo envy, but I never heard it again.

it was a normal usb with a ferrite attached, it helped.

USB is quite different than Ethernet. Isochronus mode USB has no error correction ability, and there's the Vbus/Ground lines that can negatively impact USB DACs. Some people have reported improvements simply by putting a piece of tape over the power leg pins on the USB connector. Ethernet doesn't send any power, and it's error correcting. Beyond using a shielded cable, I'm really struggling to understand why spending a lot of money on an Ethernet cable makes any sense.

I'd spend a few extra bucks if I knew the cables were properly meeting spec, but carbon fiber unicorn schlongs jacking themselves into my ports is money poorly spent.

You've never experienced a carbon fiber schlong apparently. To get real insight you should pm OJNeg.
