Like anything bruichladdich (normally a scotch distillery) makes, this stuff is outstanding.

Back in the day when I met my better half, gin was her drink. Now it makes her puke. Ahh the good ol days...

This looks very promising, hopefully member Chris1967 is following the thread and will show up in my place with a bottle when back from the UK..

Sapphire is definitely worth the premium over regular Bombay. Tanqueray is also a very good choice, with a stronger juniper flavour as the primary opening note but a smoother finish.

I haven't tried Hendrick's yet, but it is the next on my list, and will hopefully be a strong introduction to Scottish gin.

New Amsterdam is also not a terrible choice, if you're looking for something very cheap. It's not terribly complex but features a strong citrus flavour and a hint of Sappire-esque sweetness for less than $10 per fifth. If you want a cheap cocktail gin or an inexpensive party spirit, it's not a horrible choice. I wouldn't recommend it straight or as a strong cocktail drink, though.

Hendricks is quite good for a mainstream gin. I'd consider it a next level up in refinement over Bombay or Tanq.

Hendricks with a slice of cucumber and lemon, not bad at all. 4x distilled, only Damrak gets to five.

not a huge fan of Bombay these days, but picked up a Sapphire 'East' w/lemon grass that's pretty damn good.  with a healthy squirt of lime, cuts my fav S.G. Terroir (thanks CEE TEE!!!) pretty damn close over rocks and tonic. citrus with a little black pepper.

if i were on death row, i think a Hendricks with cucumber/tonic with a bucket of shelled oysters would be my request for my final meal. Hendricks isn't a bold gin, but has a floral quality that massages my temples.

i need to check out the Trader Joe's gin. i wonder who bottles it?

any good tonic water out there? i much prefer Schweppes over Canada Dry and Polar, but i dislike the taste of high fructose corn syrup.
