I love Burial, but if I allow dubstep, this thread will just be loaded with hentai dubstep
Fair enough. Like I said, I understand wanting to distance the thread from "dubstep". As long as Burial-like artists aren't forbidden. I'm not sure I know what hentai dubstep is. So far, I've resisted clicking on Lachlan's link, though Oneohtrix Point Never is some tight shit.

I see no problem with well produced brostep/dubstep. The only issue I have with it is the massive amount of saturation in the genre by unskilled producers, which is the kind you hear all over youtube.

If your listening setup is conducive to hearing deep, impactful bass and good separation and imaging, pretty much all genres of EDM can shine. Well known producers like Spor/Feed Me, Rob Swire (from Pendulum/Knife Party), Noisia, Skrillex, Deadmau5, KOAN Sound etc. are all actually masters of their craft.

Here are some examples (if nobody likes them I'll post more IDM/less mainstream stuff next time :p):

If i crave for electro i usually go after some Darkside/Nicolas Jaar these days.
Top notch mastering q and natural sounding instruments.

Also to consider:

Trentemoller (trance-melodical techno like)
Flashbulb (experimental, groovy)
Pig&Dan (german techno, dry)
Sunmonx (trance-break like)
Noisia (dnb-break-techno like)
Extrawelt (industrial-german techno)
Minilogue (minimal-ambient)
Daft Punk (house-like groovy)
Solar Fields (trance-ambient)
CarbonBasedLifeforms (trance-like ambient)
Infected Mushroom (psy-trance/Isreal trance, probably too extreme for what you want)

There's a little-known artist called Danyka Nadeau that always seems to be featured on Electro songs that I enjoy. She's got a ethereal voice that is just perfectly suited to the genre if you like fun tunes to dance to.

Thank you for this!  I am pretty new to electronic music, so I've been listening to a lot of the suggestions in this thread.  I am pretty allergic to dubstep for some reason, and I prefer some vocals with my music.  After your teasers of Danyka's 3 songs in your post, I found some more of her songs via the Monstercat albums on bandcamp.  Suffice to say I am hooked!  Too bad she doesn't have an album of her own - I am buying her songs a la carte from various Monstercat albums, haha.

All of these are excellent suggestions. The genre tags are appreciated, too.

About half of those are regularly played in my music player - all top quality artists.

I'm really digging her voice. You're right about her popping up in a lot of electronic tracks. A quick search on Spotify revealed roughly four solo pop songs but a large number of collaborations with electronic artists. Gonna enjoy exploring.

The lack of Lee Bannon, Machinedrum, and Om Unit presence in this thread is, quite frankly, disturbing.
