Never hot swap RCA's on a working power amp. Just cost me a LS50 driver.

Oh shit, really?! I'm an idiot, I did not know that.  Is this a risk for pretty much any amp?

So I started with vModa m100's, cuz I wanted moar bass.  I thought I was a basshead. At first I was thrilled, but it didn't take too long for me to realize that I didn't really like emphasized bass. So I learned something from that purchase.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Not being mean-spirited, but made me laugh. You know where I am coming from

LOL, yeah, I know, it is funny.

With all due respect, I would not at all regret buying a pair of OMD28s for under a grand. That is quite a good deal for the tech involved.

If you want an omni. Otherwise I think you can do better. For example, I'm starting to see some Gemme speakers creep down into the sub $1500 range now that Gemme is defunct. If the choice is between an OMD-28 and Gemme Tanto V2, I'll take the Gemme.

And never ever reverse polarity when connecting power amps to speakers. Fortunately cost me only 8 transistors.

Stax 404LE and eXStatA: I bought into the head-fi hype of affordable entry-level Stax products that are clouds above comparable dynamic/planar. It took me less than 1 week that I needed to get 009.
And LHLabs stuff, of course.

Not the OMD28, and have not heard this particular model, but here is the >Omni 550< for relatively cheap.

Or >these< which are sold as a pair and are actually ported.

I have some mild regret with my LCD-3F because I find them uncomfortable after about 30 minutes.  They sound great but I may end up selling them if I can find a replacement that I like just as much...
