First, many thanks to gelocks for sending these my way. I had them already for quite a while and dude has been more than understanding. Thanks mate!
This is a very surprising set of cans. In a good way. Given the somewhat ol fashion, studio like appearance, I was expecting DT-48 like performance. Wrong. These are actually quite pleasant. I wouldn't call them the most resolving cans in the world but pretty darn good IMO.
These are sort of dark and warm in the sense that mids seem a bit depressed relative to bass. They are not shy on treble, but it's not very resolving there. They don't give me sound burn like the DT-990s which is a big plus. They are fun and do have some u-shape tendencies, but not too exaggerated. I did not find them fatiguing (sound wise). Mids are pretty clean so vocals do seem to retain good depth to them. Electric guitars on the other hand do seem to loose some detail. In these sense these are fairly forgiving.
Bass does go satisfyingly deep (maybe not ortho-crazy-deep tho), and will not hold back on punch when called for. IMO these are a great set of cans. However, there is a price to be paid in terms of comfort. The pads on these are a bit stiff and may cause some pain over time. Maverickronin will likely go monkey ass on the headband of these.
