On my first post , I was asking if a Xonar stx, would help to improve the sound  from my hd595. I realized that  after getting the xonar stx, my impressions for the hd595 didn't change much, it's just that I  think they are better for ambient music than any other genre.
I was already trying to "improve" the sound with dsp, and now it's almost hysterical with my very big dsp chain in foobar.

The post: "Interesting, my first 'real' set of headphones is de Sony MDR V6. I use a Creative Auvana Live when I'm on the move." That was back in 2009...

A polite presentation+question post. January 2008 after being a lurker for a lot of time, maybe for a couple of years. Those were still good times there.

Shame I edited my first post - or maybe not...http://www.head-fi.org/t/375397/sony-ex700-filter-mod/15#post_6786787

My first post was gushing about a filter mod for Sony's EX700 IEM's which mostly makes them boomy and veiled, hence I decided to edit my post to prevent further confusion.  My start on head-fi was kind of troubled in that I spent way too much ($500AUD) on an earphone that is generously described as being an acquired taste and defintely not a good newby earphone, but nobody told me that lol.  From there I spend a while as a budget restricted uni student, and was firmly in the audio skeptic camp as it seemed to suite my budget restrictions and lack of exposure to high end audio.  At this point I am probably firmly in the subjective camp with the exception that I value measurements to make sense of what I am hearing.
