Mine could have been deleted or lost in one of the crashes. I don't remember waiting a year before posting my first posts there. Anyway, Ive been into audio and even headphones since way back in the early 90s and looking at my first posts around 2005 asking random people about which headphone is better than what is what lead me to the road of spending money on lots of crap LOL

I guess I never explained why I signed up in the first place.

I was looking for a pair of full size headphones because my Shure SE530s, which were as far as I were concerned perfect with music, just didn't have enough forward projection to work properly with movies and some games.  They weren't terribly convenient to use at home either.  I was looking for reviews, stumbled across head-fi, noticed that CanJam '10 was going to be nearby and signed up for both.

The rest is history...

I got my Rio Karma around then IIRC.  It played FLAC and Vorbis.

I wish it still worked.  :'(

I'd put an giant CF card in it if it still did.  Still the best UI I've even seen in DAP after all these years...

I lurked for a long time before I posted, several years actually... Then I answered CeeTee's call for the Bay Area Meet two years ago...

It was all down hill from there...

shipsupt:  I would say "sorry" but you are definitely one of the BEST peeps I have met on H-F, so not sorry!

Dang, it seems like a LOT longer than 2 years- could my first post (and thread) be 4/5/10???

@CEE TEE -- More evidence that Grado is the ultimate gateway. I turned so many people onto headphones with my old pair of 225s.

This was my first post in February 2011: http://www.head-fi.org/t/529144/recommendations-thread-i-e-dont-start-a-new-thread-ask-for-advice-here-please-read-op/1575#post_7283565

Nothing insightful, just asking for recommendations. I ended up getting an Ultrasone HFI-580.

My early posts were somewhat sensible I think. Then, later, I became somewhat of an idiot, got my rear-end kicked and started being somewhat sensible again. At least now I understand it's easy to think you know something when you don't know shit.

Such a Grado man!

Best quote... "To give you some perspective, I came from a set of STAX phones with the special tube amp (I don't even remember the model number) in the mid-90's.". Full circle... Full circle...
