ATH-AD2000x

These I guess are the evolution to the non-exes? Dunno, non-exes seem to have been checked out here before:

There are pretty efficient and look kind of martian like with their head wing-ies. They apparently feature a 53 mm large driver, and seem to target a more spacious presentation.

To me they are sort of bright and up hill tilted. They do have bass but I tend to like a moar. Lacks ballz.

One problem I have with these is that they seem to be designed for a fatter head. Other than that they are comfy.

Anyhow... Measurements:

Thank you for this! After hearing both, I ended up with the regular AD2000.

Thank you for this! After hearing both, I ended up with the regular AD2000.
I originally owned the AD2000 3 years ago and they blew me away. I had to sell them for unforseen bills but somewhat recently I was able to find the Ad2000x at a great price. Unfortunately they didn't scratch that itch that I had so I had to patiently wait for a great condition Ad2000 to show up.

Love the Ad2000, they melt me into music, the Ad2000x just don't really do it for me.

Thanks for the measurements!

I must have a fat head. The 2000x is super comfortable for me.

I heard the 2000 years ago, so going by extremely unreliable memory the 2000x felt less peaky to me, but maybe overall brighter.

Do you think there may be an acoustic leak from the jack hole? ~Tyll Hertsens

Not sure if I like stuffing one hole or both holes. Tending toward one hole since both holes seems kinda ghey ~Purrin

It's all relative. I have a sort of alien's head. More than comfort I had a fit (gap) issue with the top part of the pads. I was able to overcome it to some extent though.

As far as comparisons with the 2000, I would not be able to say since I only listened to these. However, the measurements do indeed seem less peaky with the 2000x.
