Congrats! It's awesome that they have an official voice here and I suspect the ridiculous vibe here will be more digestible with an insider on staff.

Echoing Marv, there is a lot of cross pollination between different forums. I myself have been a member of HF for over 10 years now.

There is a lot of cross membership between HF and Changstar. We have a different emphasis here that I think works well for HF since what would be considered critical analysis of gear here would be considered trolling or at the very least, raining on someone's parade over there. I don't see it as black-and-white them-or-us thing. Changstar is a way way more immature hangout though. We take audio seriously, but we don't take ourselves seriously.

Yup. Changstar could be seen as an black or grey  Thinktank  of Head-fi. Mad Savants area where we experiment things and can have very free speech and thinking. HF is a more politically correct place.  There's enough place for both approach IMO.

It would be a better thing thant rant or undeclared war.. more productive.   Like Open source communal work and Commercial/corporate work.  complemetary approach . i'm personaly more comfortable with communal/collective free work but I understand and respect the commercial/corporate work.

To see Pirates like marv' or Jeff working for brands like Hifiman or Eddie Current  proves that we all work in a good direction.  Seing a bunch of Beta-HE1000 arriving to CS members proves we have power and weight. My 2 cents

I'd say that not taking yourself too seriously if probably a sign of maturity.

Thad: haha I guess I've already been corrupted by the large corporate speak while working at HP. I'll make sure to choose my words more carefully from now on.

 :))

At least it wasn't Microsoft!

And I'm glad you took that with a laugh

+1 to that.
am here more because of this element, and tired of the agenda driven one-sided censorship of HF.

Nice move Jeff. Glad to see it's you. A lot of good could come out this. Congratulations.  Maturity is overrated. At any age. I hope to be really immature in my 60's.  :)p3  )(

To quote Billy Connolly: "I know at least 127 words and I still prefer fuck." In his most recent interviews he still is that man with a penchant for stories and swearing...

Join me! I wish I could be even more immature.

Practical point: Could the thread title be changed?  Originally, I thought it was a general site announcement. Inclusion of "hifiman" would be good, adding "site representation" would be even better. It would help people who might need to find you. ...Or you could just wear a paper bag on your head when you post in this role ;)
