King Kunta is the hottest hip hop track of the year. I literally have a hard time breathing every time I listen to it. Just mesmerizing.

I'll be seeing Kendrick and Run The Jewels at bonnaroo this summer. I think we are in a great time for hip hop right now.

When the female singer comes in on King Kunta is just magic. I tend to agree that hip hop is in a good space right now. There is something for everyone, and I think that's great.

Wow a hip hop thread.  Sub.  I have heard of Kendrick but only from the album good, kid m.A.A.D. city. Can't say much for the pimp a butterfly album as I didn't like it very much.

I'm more of the 90's hip hop like Outkast ATliens, Refugees, Busta Rymes, Method man, Red man, Tupac, Notorious Big, Mob deep, A tribe called quest, etc...

I do enjoy instrumentals.  Heres one.

I don't even like hip-hop, but it really is fantastic. GKMC is more consistent, but at the expense of being far more safe and less interesting. There's also nothing on TPAB quite on-par with "Sing About Me," but the album as a whole is easily the best hip-hop album in recent years, and one of the best I've ever heard.

Heard Kendrick Lamar on A$AP Rocky's "LONG.LIVE.A$AP" album, track:  F**kin' Problems

Liked him and wanted to hear more...but didn't immediately get into this album, so went to his earlier albums.  I'll check back in after working through his albums and this one some more.

I'd vote Drake - 10 Bands as track of the year.

My criteria is how many people have been sampling that beat and that chorus in hip hop cyphers.
So far Jaz the Rapper, Serious Jones I've heard sampling that.
