« on: January 27, 2015, 09:36:41 PM »

Unfortunatey there are no measurements here, but i did find them on digitalversus http://www.digitalversus.com/headphones/audio-technica-msr-7-p22041/test.html

There are measurements over are GoldenEars, they seem to correlate with people's impressions.

I ended up buying a used pair from a dude on head-fi for $230USD including shipping/fees to Canada.  Will post subjective impressions when I can. Hopefully theyll be a step or 2 above my old closed NVX Audio PT100.

I tried them yesterday and thought they sounded awful. It's like they took the M50x and chopped off the low end, leaving you with just the uneven, metallic sounding mids and treble.

Don't give up hope yet! I should have mentioned that I tend to dislike the way AT's sound anyway, so YMMV.

They're pretty nice sounding, and I think isolation and build quality seems decent. But they clamp pretty tight.

I went back and gave these another try today. Having spent more time with them, I think I judged them rather unfairly in my previous comment.

The treble is smoother/less sibilant than the M50x and the bass is more neutral. I still find them a overly bright for my tastes but they don't deserve to be called awful, like I said before.
