Speaking of expensive, this thing is pretty incredible. I could do without the rose gold, but I love oddball retrograde watches like this.

That's nice watch. You getting the black or white dial?

The acrylic will scratch very easily, but it's also pretty easy to polish up.
Mineral glass is the worst, I used diamond grit polish to clear up a scratch on a watch that was a gift. It took a a couple of hours to get it out.

Hell yeah.

The Breguet checks all the boxes for me: great movement, interesting dial, date somewhere other than the 3 o'clock position, and a good back story.

What's holding you back?  Granted, it would be hard to go wrong with any of the choices you've posted.  headbang

Yeah, the Breguet is nice and I like that it's durable. It's super classy. It's definitely up for consideration.  l'm saving up, so no need to rush (still very much enjoying the JLC and Rolex). Thinking the next one will be a 40th birthday present in a year and a half. I'll have a chance to try on the new Rolex later this year.

I have a guy who can get 25% off list for pretty much any watch. I just need a trustworthy watchmaker in NYC now.

here it is with the black rubber strap. I like it this way, too.

Mine isn't as nice as the other watches but I use mine for work purposes.  I'm a personal trainer so I like to monitor heart rate, calories burnt, temperature, altitude, GPS tracking, it can connect via bluetooth to my phone and show me my notifications and a few other functions that the Garmin Fenix 3 offers.  I don't like chest straps when exercising but I use the life beam Heart rate hat instead of the chest strap.  I'm probably babbling to some of you...lol.

Hey Hawaiian,

If you like it and it's a watch, then it's welcome here! Not everything that is cool has to be platinum. I think Shakespear said that ;)

A lot of my patients have fitbits and are trying to get their 10,000 steps in everyday...

Thanks.  I was never a fan of watches but used the one on my phone.  After learning more stuff to help with personal training, these are some good tools to help.  Are they necessary? I guess it depends on what a person is looking for.  I know it helps me a lot.   :wheel:

Patients?  What kind of a job you got?

Dang 10k steps...I think my goal on my watch is only 5k.  I know I do much more on certain days especially when I'm playing vball or go jogging or even cutting the grass haha.

Yeah, watches actually come in handy sometimes.
Plus, basically they are the main sort of jewelry a man can wear and still be classy. I say that as a person who can't wear a ring at work. I'm an acupuncturist, I treat patients with Chinese massage, acupuncture and herbs.

As for 10k steps, maybe that's a New York thing. We're like nomads here, walking everywhere!

Oh, and another watch:

Raymond Weil is doing a tribute to Frank Sinatra on his 100th anniversary.

It's an eta movement, nothing fancy, but man, it looks nice.

Oh thats cool!  I like getting acupuncture.

Yeah the last time I saw a 10k for a pedometer it was a person running for a couple of miles.
