After conjuring a golem and permutating the syllables of the name of G_d, I opened a magic waterfall passage and waddled through to what the ancient Hittites called "47th Street".

There I picked up two watches. One, an understated Rolex Datejust II for daily wear. It has a rhodium face. Yeah, the more I looked into it, the more I had to admit Rolex makes a sturdy watch.

The other, a dress watch. The Master Ultra Thin Moon 39 by Jaeger LeCoultre. The watchmakers I met all gave respect to this watch, which was kinda neat!

Next, I'll start a suit thread and ask for some advice!

That JLC is gorgeous, nicely done sir. I won't comment on the Datejust lol. I don't mind some of the Air King styles, but otherwise Rolex aint for me.

Ha ha, the JLC appreciation is appreciated!

I know just what you mean about Rolex.

Bespoke, or off the rack? ;)

The number of tailor shops are not what they used to be, but if you're ever in Hong Kong...

same goes for watches--crazy selections here

Nice choices and taste, Kunlun.  That Rolex is a nice looking version!  I had one very similar for a time but with navy blue face.

I'll start a new thread, thanks, Josh!

Thanks, CeeTee! I was looking for a rolex that I would be happy with, but that wouldn't draw a lot of attention. The navy blue face was the one I almost got, it's a classic, too.

The Jaeger's very handsome. Its spareness is consistent (the number marks and hands; the stark, clean whiteness of the face), and the moon phase keeps it from being too spare whilst being subtle enough not to interfere with its simplicity. Great choice! :)p1

On the Rolex, I have a hard time with the rotating numbers together with the magnified date but tastes differ.
