Got mine today. Putting it through its paces. Bluetooth works very well and has no connection problems. Props to Peachtree for including cables for every audio connection.

Sound is very clear for a small device and fills the room well. It's shocking how good the sound is from something so compact. This sort of sound shows that engineers are still improving speaker cabinet designs, something I had thought stagnant for some time. Bass is highly customizable from almost nothing to waaaay too much, so it should satisfy anyone with their setting of choice. The device feels extremely well made, including a much deeper than expected handle making for easy relocation.

I think it can fill a lot of roles, from bedroom sleep aid, to outdoor boombox (corded), to desktop computer speaker system, to even main stereo system for the less demanding (and not for sound, more about flexibility).

Fantastic for the $250 First backer buy-in. Even at full $500 I think it is worth it. Some of the more expensive options just sound like ass.

We have a JBL L8 in the house now so I'll be doing some comparisons.

Yeah, I'm kicking myself in the ass on not getting in on this too at the lower price. I've been looking for a bluetooth speaker that I can easily move about for Office, Kitchen, Back Patio, and Bedroom use. From everything I've heard, this is fantastic.

Finally go the Deepblue2 over here in the UK.  Fired it up tonight.  It's an outstanding bluetooth speaker. 

Go easy with that "bass boost"! It get's out of control quickly, but can be kinda fun with some tunes when you want to be a gangsta.

At $249 it was a steal.  I'm not sure what MSRP is going to be ($499?), but it's worth more than  that! 

Seriously big sound for a single "unit".  There's really not much to throw stones at unless you start comparing this to some good speakers set up well in a room.  If you've got a space, like my kitchen, where you want good music set up conveniently, this thing rocks.

I've got the JBL L8 here as well and I can recommend that unit as well.  It's got a lot more connection options, but also takes up a bit more real estate.  And it's a bunch more $$$....

to be fair, the A5+ was a disappointment because even at $300 on sale, they were stomped by a $100 crown amp and $200 affordable accuracy modded BS22s. The deepblue2 is somewhere in between the two of those in terms of overall SQ. I need to test the FR, though, once I find my mic + stand to dial in the bass properly. I'll try to do a comparison against the crown (or the topping TP22 if I get one) + affordable accuracy monitors in the future once I'm back in the states in a couple of weeks.

The deepblue2 is super easy to set up, pairs quickly with all the various cell phones and laptops in the house, and has optical in which means my bedroom sonos connect pipes into it.

At the early price of $250, it is in my top 3 of best crowdfunding scores. I'd say the $500 price is still pretty darn good.

still cannot believe i got mine in at $250. even with shipping and import duty here it's still a steal.

i also prefer it to the A5+ but its shape makes it hard to use as an A5+ replacement. Also, I'm referring to the A5+ with the D1 DAC. Things might improve with other DACs.
