What color would be acceptable to you for the "mod" (inside the cups)?

Must be black! Heck, I'd even pay a couple more bucks to make it so.

I don't care if it's fuscia with purple tiger stripes, as long as I get it yesterday.

List updated! Just working out some materials sourcing issues and then got to run it through customer use/abuse trials and iron out the finishing touches.

Thanks for everyone's support!  :)p5
Are these the parts of the process (sourcing issues persist, trials still running) that are being worked on, or is there any new news? A quick update would be sweet.

I'm happy with the HD800 stock sound but sounds like it can be that much better from what I've read.
Anaxilus - Please add me to the list as well if possible.

Thanks!

I hadn't heard a stock HD800 in a while and we had one lined up next to a modded pair yesterday. I literally went WTF  :-0 Still have no idea how people get along with stock sound

I'm fine with HD800 stock sound but it needed a lot of time and efforts on the gear to get used to it . Remember I almost don't listen to rock/metal/pop . That helps.

I even tried to let go the HD800 during a month . During this month I listened mostly a Stax SR404 and it took maybe half an hour fo my brain to adjust when the HD800 came back.  If I listened to a HD650 during the same period, it would probably have taken more than half an hour...

I currently run my HD800 without the Dust covers and with some thin rugliner. The change is not huge but I think the rugliner helps.

I'm currently trying  the same method on my hd800. Quite like it. When I had a friend coming, and we went back to stock, it seem stock a bit warmer and fuzzy. Quite noticeable difference eventhough it's small.

For sure, I would never come back to dust covers.  Stock without anything is bit too sharp. Rug liner seems to put the HD800 in a sweet spot for me and the music I listen to but  it's still a HD800.

Will see with my Vali that should arrive soon.  I remember the Vali is a tiny bit on the bright side but maybe it's only my memory.  Final adjustments when the Stratus will be there  :)p7

I used to....until Saturday. :P Now I hear it. Sibilance all over the place. And from Sinatra no less! Just need to find my X-Acto knife and pull out the rug liner.  :)p1
