Do you want a bet for a bottle of something decent if at the next meet I will find you at least a couple of sets with either paint chips or dings on Leona or both?

Dings yes, I told you I already covered two little ones with a sharpie.  Only like two pin hole sized ones most wouldn't notice even if I didn't.  Chips, no you won't cuz I already covered them as I said.  They were from dings, not chips that flaked off from poor adhesion.  I have ZERO paint chips.  What bottle were planning on losing?  Btw, you don't get to go Crazy Ivan or do the Russell Peters and take a knife to it when none is looking.   :)) ;)

SR-009 would possibly be my top choice if it wasn't for the fugly and snappable plastic arc.  The rest of the materials are top notch quality, and the drivers are a work of art.
I voted SR-007mk2 over mk1 because of the strain relief.
The R10 cup milling, porting system, and floating hinge are all inspiring.  The cable is my fav feeling cable ever, I can stroke that thing all day and night.
My favorite thing about the Orpheus build quality is probably the earpad idea.  Pleather on the inside and outside to prevent micro leakage in an ESL, and velour on the part that makes contact with the head for ultimate comfort year round.  It's just a shame they used that cheap, flaky pleather instead of real leather...
One knock against the HD800 is how accessible the mesh is from the outside and thus susceptible to denting.
I'd add TH900 to my original list.

The 009 is the only phone I've ever contemplated buying solely on build quality and engineering alone.

Few headphones have impressed me as much as the Yamaha YH5M

Don, how do these things sound? I've always wanted a pair but I'm always a little scared to take the plunge.

FR plots I've seen of it are not promising, so I'd love to hear your opinion as well, Don.

FWIW I just received a brand new pair of HD800s and have to admit paint quality looks good this time. One of the pads was popped out in one corner and I seriously had to use a lot of force to jamm it back in. Not sute if the plastic on that pad is a bit off or bent and if it's going to stay or will continue popping out with use we will see. Plan on taking them to every meet and see how they age so there is a chance I change those earlier impressions for something more in line with others here  p;).

IMO, the ATH-L3000 takes the cake on the build quality department.  The only flaw is an occasionally cable fraying.
