Joined in January but haven't been frequenting the forum until now (for no good reason except hours available in the day)
I'm a DAC manufacturer & I see some of my dacs & converters are mentioned & used by members here - known by the names of JKDAC, JKSPDIF & the later models known by the name of CIUNAS

I'm very interested in the correlation between measurements & auditory perception but from the perspective of understanding what are the factors that go into making the illusion of stereo audio more realistic. I see there is a whole section on amp & DAC measuring on this forum & hope to learn something & maybe contribute a little.

I'm not here to promote my goods but happy to answer any questions I can in relation to them.

Hey.

I'm new 'round these parts. I was told about this port by some of the scalawags I sailed with before...  walk the plank2

I've loved music and hi-fi all my life. I took a detour for many years (mostly high school, college, and my 20s) into Home Theater, but once I hit my 30s I really found that the lure of high quality stereo was just too strong.

In 2013 my passion for all things audio and some personal revelations about the transformative nature of proper power & signal foundations (aka, better cables) led me to start my own business dedicated to helping other people get the most out of their audio systems.

After many years of listening primarily to loudspeaker systems, I'm falling in love with headphones again. (I already made a post outlining my own headphone journey elsewhere on the forum). I just sold my personal pair of Sony MDR-Z7s to a friend because I'm saving my pennies up for a pair of HiFiMan HE1000s... but in the meanwhile, my business bought a pair of Nighthawks (for demo) and I have to say I'm quite impressed. They're very different in overall presentation from my beloved Sonys, but they're comfy, resolving, and satisfying to listen to when paired with a reasonably good amplifier.

Some of you may know me from other forums. I was a volunteer moderator for www.lhlabs.com forums for several years (as jeremy.anderson).

Thanks for the welcome everyone! Yes I was there but couldn't stay long as my sister just gave birth to my god child :)

Are you still into DT880s?

I still remember the wacky variety of that meet. There was even a DT48 owner, I think Drosera who could crack some jokes.

Why is it us DT880 lovers always get beat up?

I do not get it. I used to read mostly positive things about the DT880. There was also the Darth Beyer DT880 which was widely loved by fans comparable to the AKG Sextett fans. A good Sextett is lovely with well produced music.

The DT880-250 was once on my short list until the AKG K240DF crossed my path. If you can recommend the DT880-250 to a midrange lover on a lower volume, I might consider it over the DT250-250.

Yeah, when I started the HF game (back in 2004) the DT880 was well loved. I purchased the new version, had the old version, and have loved both. I even did the Darth thing... kind of embarrassed to say that now, but I love them. They are the only headphone I've stuck with from my nearly-teen days.
